The Ministry of Roads and Transport Development and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism held a joint meeting with airline companies and tourism business representatives.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between airlines and tourism businesses, having common understanding on facing issues, developing joint plans, and updating government programs and objectives to support those fields.
During the meeting, Mr. L.Byambasuren, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia said, the maintenance of airports in the provinces which are highly important to domestic and international tourism, and preparation works for their upgrade to international airport status are being carried out during the pandemic.
Participants agreed to develop a joint plan of aviation and tourism sectors and submit to the Government for approval through the line ministries, to establish a Board of Directors with the participation of tourism and airlines under the leadership Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia
Mr. L.Khaltar, Minister of Road and Transport Development and Ms. N.Urtnasan, Minister of Environment and Tourism said that they will work to support their proposals and conclusions and present them to the Government for final approval.
