Mongolia updates 80 percent of its air routes

2022/10/06

According to the decree of January 19, 2022 of the Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia, the air routes in the airspace of Mongolia have been updated and launched on October 6, 2022 at 00.00 UTC /8am local time/. For this occasion, the Easy Busy 2030 event was organized today.

Mr. Batbold Sandagdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development opened this event and mentioned in his speech the importance of the transport sector’s role for people’s living and development of the country, as well as briefed on the reforms and goals set by the Government in order to achieve the implementation of main policies, such as New Recovery Policy, Vision-2050 and the Government Action Plan. He also highlighted that this event is a part of the goals of creating new operation management in the air transport sector, improving the use of air routes and ensuring safe and comfortable air travels.

By renewing the air routes in the airspace, the upper and lower airways will be able to be combined, and will create the traditional and indicator-based airways in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization /ICAO/.

These changes will be part of comprehensive and systematic tasks implemented by CAAM in connection with the planning of the SEAMLESS ATM PLAN airspace route specifications implemented in the countries of Asia and the Pacific region within the GANP or global air navigation plan proposed by ICAO.
