TRAFFIC SAFETY WILL BE FULLY MONITORED BY CCTV CAMERA SURVEILANCE

A meeting on the special Action Plan to be implemented in 2021 within the framework of the “The National Program on Traffic Safety” was held at the Ministry of Road and Transport Development.

The meeting was attended by Mr. L.Khaltar, Minister of Road and Transport Development, Mr. B.Ganzorig, Head of the Office of the National Road Safety Council, Mr. B.Odsuren, Project manager of the Capital City Roads and Transportation Projects and some other relevant officials.

During the meeting Mr. B.Ganzorig made a presentation on issues related to the implementation of activities and measures specified in the special action plan to be implemented in 2021, and Police Colonel Mr, B.Battulga, Head of the Information and Technology Division of the Traffic Police Department also made a presentation on the current situation of CCTV surveillance, challenges and future issues”.

It is planned to increase the number of CCTV cameras in Ulaanbaatar city by up to 35 percent in 2021. In addition, the officials exchanged views and developed a special work schedule on a range of important activities such as developing and approving the safety standards for motorcycle use, to carry out a demonstration project on creating a standardized safe area development in the vicinity of schools in urban settlements and along state roads, to build pedestrian crossings (underground and bridges) in accordance with the standards to reduce traffic congestion, to accustom use of protective equipment and helmets by cyclists and bikers in traffic and to introduce emergency communication and assistance points at every 200 km along national roads and so on.
