On 3^rd August 2023, the “Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Road And Transport Development of Mongolia and the Department of Transportation of the United States of America on Transportation Matters of Mutual Interest” was signed by the Minister Byambatsogt Sandag and the US Secretary of Transportation Mr. Pete Butigieg in Washington DC.

The Memorandum of Cooperation opens wide array of cooperation opportunities between the two sides in all modes of transportation including transportation safety, innovation and emerging technologies, smart transportation, multimodal transportation planning, infrastructure planning, investment, financing, operations, and asset management;

The document becomes the first cooperation document establishing direct partnership between the two ministries and aims to strengthen Mongolia-US strategic partnership.
